IMC Consulting to Work with Detroit Housing Commission to Support Hope VI Program

DETROIT, MI, September 5, 2007 — IMC Consulting, LLC and its subcontractor Peachtree Works will work with the Detroit Housing Commission to oversee a variety of programs and services focusing on education, employment and health in an initiative called the Community and Supportive Services program (CSS). The program is a significant component of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s large-scale public housing revitalization effort, Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere (HOPE VI).

IMC will manage the delivery of programs and services to former residents through contracts and partnerships with community agencies. These agencies will provide programs and services to promote the employment, education and eligibility of residents to return to the redeveloped properties of the Gardenview Estates, Woodbridge Estates and Jeffries East properties.

“Efforts to revitalize and redevelop public housing must also address the ability of residents to return and integrate into a privately managed and operated community. Although IMC’s focus is on HOPE VI Program Management, our experience in real estate development and housing management provide focus to the CSS effort with an emphasis on the economic and social viability of the residents who desire to return to revitalized communities,” said Brian Sweeney, President of IMC Consulting. “Our partnership with Peachtree Works, a leading community and social service management firm, brings the necessary social service expertise to our team to enable the Detroit Housing Commission to help its residents develop the skills, incomes and education to be successful in the new developed communities.”

IMC Consulting is a management and consulting firm focusing on helping clients in local, state and federal government tackle their most challenging issues. The company – headquartered in Woodstock, Maryland – has offices in Northfield, New Hampshire, North Loxahatchee, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia and works with clients throughout the country.
